FORGIVENESS: Pardon 4 of 55

Bringing the world of transformation (read transformation blog here)  to the word ‘forgiveness’, from these 55 “Medicine Wheel” cards lent to me by my lovely neighbour Cassandra, I know that in all the inquiries; through all my personal development courses run by Landmark Worldwide, (LW), forgiveness was always left as a choice.

The ‘gold’ that I learned; whilst assisting in the LW Young Persons Forum (8-12 year olds), was when the young people were asked who was responsible for them having a great life?

  • Mum?
  • Dad?
  • You?

I recall the inquiry between the children was wonderfully refreshing, loving and eventually PROFOUND. They put their hands up and shared that Dad was, because he ….or that Mum was, because she……and I remember being inspired and moved, listening to what some parents did to have their child have a great life. Fascinating as, after a while, and many shares were exhausted and the question was repeated again , the children finally got that they were 100 % responsible for all their relationships in their life (read responsibility blog here) and that Mum or Dad had nothing to do with it! It was put forward, not as the truth, but as a place for the child to deeply consider. They could cause a great Mum or Dad because they declare it!

From there, now as an adult, the forgiveness lies with me and , given I am 100 responsible for all my relationships, I look to what did I do, to let an occurrence occur, where “I need to forgive” and “who was I being” to have this occurrence happen in the first place? More importantly, I look at the COSTS of holding onto a position where I feel forgiveness is needed. Joy, happiness, vitality are just a few of the costs when I am being positional so today, I see the only forgiveness I need, is for myself for allowing the upsetting occurrence to happen in my life. Aaah, peace is with me and I wish you all the same.

Fascinatingly, when I completed my Landmark Forum in October 1993, and remembering myself being stabbed (aged 18…read story here), I never saw the need to “FORGIVE” the man who stabbed me. In fact, I so recall thinking I wanted to thank him, (once revealed in the course), as it had me become “Brave” where I treat life as sacred and perhaps urgent! Thanking him is a bit bizarre maybe and I take full responsibility, noting  that I was a naive “bullet proof” teenager  who learned the hard way!

I have now seen for myself that provided I keep good company and remaion vigilant for the flavour of all my relations as being peaceful and loving, the need to forgive does not arrive for me. No ‘pointing the finger’ or blaming someone for their actions has me be 100 % responsible for all my relationships, where love, peace and harmony provides a great foundation for having a great life! PASS IT ON!
