JOY:  Feeling of Great Pleasure  50 of 65

Viewing the card “Joy” from these happiness cards, instantly gives me a thought and how I relate to the word from a “transforming human being” point of view. An instant smile will indicate how happy I am with the word.

Why?

Well I will never forget my brother’s words, after he shared what he got out of his Landmark Forum two years after I had completed it.

Felix had flown over to Australia from England for a family holiday. I was living in Sydney and had flown up to meet him at mum and dad’s in Cleveland, Brisbane. He said that it was a wonderful nature walk (Tamborine National Park) with my new Landmark Forum friend Ingrid (aged 18) that opened him up to the possibility of participating in the course. He listened intently as Ingrid and I shared ( see sharing blog ) about what we have both learned in the course.

In October 1993, among the many calls I made to friends and family to “complete” (see completion blog here), I called my unsuspecting younger brother. I said I was so sorry for bullying him throughout his childhood, and how I was jealous as it seemed mum and dad loved him more (see unlovable story here) . Generously ( see generosity blog here) , he simply said: “Oh it’s ok, it’s just what brothers do!”

Two years later, my brother tentatively and skeptically participated in his Landmark Forum in London. Only two days before, I had called him from Sydney and said I didn’t want him to do the Landmark Forum, I wanted him to do the Advanced Course. He asked what that was and I said it was the course after the Landmark Form to which he screamed : “Oh for f@#$ sake Charles , F#$% off!” and hung up the phone! On the first break on the Friday of the course, he went up to the assistants and said he wanted to register into the Advance Course. Surprised, they said how come? He replied his first big insight: “I don’t trust my brother!”, (throughout our childhood, I always got him into trouble as I always said to mum and dad: “Oh, but Felix did it too!”).

Bottom line was that he called me up over that weekend to thank me, saying I was the best eldest brother any brother could wish for, and that he had a breakthrough (read breakthrough blog here )  in JOY! Priceless!

WHERE IS JOY SHOWING UP FOR YOU IN 2020?
